Casa del Mar Montessori provides a student-centered learning environment where children develop into self-directed learners with the values, intellectual ability and innovation skills that they will need to thrive in their future.Casa del Mar Montessori is a small school of around 70 students that adheres to the Montessori standards established by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and the American Montessori Society (AMS). These standards are designed to cover the specific needs of each child’s stage of development, nurturing their intrinsic desire for learning and allowing each student to engage in their own learning experience.

In a framework of whole-child education, we seek to develop happy and fulfilled human beings , with a growth mindset, that love learning and understand our rapidly evolving world in such a way that they will be able to create meaningful change. Global citizens of the world with the leadership skills to become active promoters of a more tolerant, inclusive, secure and sustainable society.

Whole-Child education

We create a supportive learning environment in every classroom, and the whole school, to enable the sense of belonging and emotional safety that allows the child to develop peacefully and naturally.

Montessori methodology is based on a holistic approach to education, it acknowledges the need for the human being to developtheir intellectual, social, emotional, physical, artistic ,creative and spiritual potentials to become a fulfilled and happy human.

Student-centered learning

Student-centered learning looks for the child’s interests, recognising and emphasizing each child’s unique abilities and learning styles, and following their own pace of learning.

Children are active and responsible participants in their own process of learning , building autonomy, accountability and the skills that will enable a lifelong love of learning.

In a learner-centered approach the focus is shifted from the teacher to the child. The Montessori guide acts as a mentor and facilitator in the process of learning, providing guidance so that each child can experience success and acquire skills naturally and without competition.

Experiential learning

Children need to be immersed in real life, hands-on and meaningful learning experiences for their brain to develop naturally.

A complete set of scientificly designed learning materials provide children with concrete experiences to gradually understand abstract concepts.

Cross-age mentoring is present every day, building leadership skills and consolidating their academic knowledge.

As children grow, the curriculum moves to a business-like approach emphasizing accountability and teamwork through project-based learning and real-life experiences.

The guide facilitates decision-making, problem-solving and reflection on the experiences, aiding in the development of their analytical skills and critical thinking.
